It's so close to Tokyo!
It's so close to Tokyo!
One Saturday morning, when I was watching TV, there was a report about Kawagoe, called as a little Edo (Tokyo).
It looks kike an old and historic town just near Tokyo.
Why not to go there?
Getting of at "Kawagoe-city" on Tobu Tojo Line, we took taxi to get to the historic corner. It was only 5 min. distance from the station.
Yes, I saw many old looking houses at the both side of a street. Two blocks are reserved area of ancient warehouse style of building, which the most of them are now changed to souvenir shops or coffee shops though. Be careful for the traffic of cars, busses and trucks, it's not a closed road.
After walking through the each side of the road, we had a rest at soba-restaurant and had light meal.
Well, it is a good place to visit because it is only one hour to get there from the center of Tokyo, and you can see how the town was look like in Edo era. I would like to come back once again to spend one full day.

This is the center street.
